Transience is currently in development by a YouTuber known as BigFry. If you've seen his stuff, you'll know he can occasionally have harsh and honest opinions toward developers - especially ones that utilize scummy practices or push out minimal content for a quick buck. This prompted him to make a game. So now - you can try it out here. It's a single-player story-driven game that's going to be utilizing a comic-book style of graphics and story-telling. So this game really surprised me. Normally, I'm a military, slow paced, first person shooter kinda guy. However, THIS GAME was LOADS of fun. Maybe it's because it's something entirely new and fresh in the FPS world, but it's LOADS of fun. You've got nearly unlimited destruction and the environment can be your greatest asset or your greatest downfall. It's currently in a closed testing period, but it's expected to release soon (no official date given, yet). My biggest gripe is the TTK is SOOO SLOW but that also allows getaways and re-assessing your situation to promote destruction and complete the objective. The games I've played were a 3v3v3v3 style of game mode with objectives needing completed across the map. Very unique but exactly what the gaming world needs - something innovative. For a world war 1 game, it's actually pretty fun. The player count is the worst part about it, in my opinion, but they provide a hardcore element to it to make it not as "arcadey" as BF1 but also it's not a slog just to get to the action. I haven't played much of this, but I know 2 things. 1. There's a lot of gore and 2. It's got some sexy looking reload animations. The game is a wave survival game where you take out mutants and clones called "Zeds" in waves where between waves you can purchase some new equipment, weapons, armor, etc. This year, they released an updated titled "Tidal Terror" with a bunch of new goodies/DLCs. I've heard it's better as co-op and not a lone ranger...but most things are. Recently, I picked up the game GTFO. If you want a difficult game - this is it. The enemies are deadly, but what really is enjoyable/terrifying is the environment. You never know what lurks around the corner, the ambient sounds bring about a fear of the unknown that provokes the thought "what kind of monster was that?" It can be played alone with bots, but they seem to be a little bit ditsy. I tried 2 player co-op, but that didn't last long. I'd recommend 4 players with good communication and someone that understands what's going on. Good luck out there, prisoner. Generation Zero is a game I picked up on Steam for 75% off at around $7.00. I haven't played it solo but I did play it with a buddy and MAN...it's a whole lot of fun. What I found most interesting is that it takes a nearly empty environment (much like Fallout 76) but makes it feel alive. I originally wanted to pick this up when it first came out, but saw some poor reviews. However - according to the steam ratings, the game has gotten MUCH better. I'm interested to see what the whole story is in this game. Steam Description: Sweden. 1989. When the residents of Östertörn wake to find robots on the rampage, winning becomes living.
