Alright, for some reason you crazy kids want a photorealistic horror game where the hyper-realism is over-the-top and might literally cause you to urinate all over your seat. BUT...since you want it - here it is. This is a game called Paranormal Tales and it's developed by Digital Cybercherries, the same team behind Hypercharge: Unboxed. Paranormal Tales is a next-gen horror game based on found footage built in Unreal Engine 5. You experience and play through each tragic tale of those who went missing from the viewpoint of bodycams, phones, and VHS cameras. The game is set to release in 2023 and it has multiple scenarios that you can explore. Each scenario is a self-contained experience where you playthrough what happened to the people who recorded these files. The game promises to deliver hyper-realistic environments, immersive audio and visual effects, and as you’ll soon see - plenty of jump scares and anxiety. The game is currently on Steam and you can wishlist it if you're interested. The plan is also to bring it to Playstation 5 and Xbox One S/S. Personally, I’m not a horror jump-scare kinda guy and I had to pause the trailers just so I wouldn't scream (I'm a grown man, I swear). So enjoy it, ya weirdos.

Chernobylite is somewhat nostalgic for me. I haven't played the STALKER games (at least not yet) but I've heard these are very similar. What I HAVE played, though, is the "All Ghillied Up" and "One Shot One Kill" missions of CoD4 and this is reminiscent of that. Not that the gameplay is similar, by any means, but being in the Chernobyl/Pripyat area reminds me of that time. What's cool about this game is that the team over at the Farm51 ACTUALLY WENT to some of these locations and did 3D scans in order to get an accurate portrayal of the environment. I haven't progressed the story too far, but it's nice because it comes with some "Free Roam" maps that you can just hop in and explore (which is what I did in the video below). Graphics for me are stunning, and I know they're likely even better with all the RTX fancy graphics (I do not have an RTX card so only an assumption). Steam Description: Chernobylite is a science-fiction survival horror RPG. Set in the hyper-realistic, 3D-scanned wasteland of Chernobyl’s Exclusion Zone, explore a non-linear storyline in your search to uncover the truth of your tortured past. GTFO

    422 downloads

Recently, I picked up the game GTFO. If you want a difficult game - this is it. The enemies are deadly, but what really is enjoyable/terrifying is the environment. You never know what lurks around the corner, the ambient sounds bring about a fear of the unknown that provokes the thought "what kind of monster was that?" It can be played alone with bots, but they seem to be a little bit ditsy. I tried 2 player co-op, but that didn't last long. I'd recommend 4 players with good communication and someone that understands what's going on. Good luck out there, prisoner. Steam Description: GTFO is an extreme cooperative horror shooter that throws you from gripping suspense to explosive action in a heartbeat. Stealth, strategy, and teamwork are necessary to survive in your deadly, underground prison. Work together or die together.
